Crítica/Review La La Land - La ciudad de las estrellas

As always Im late to things, but it is something to be expected if you live in a town where cinemas do not exist. Luckily, two weeks ago I went to Ibagué having in mind that I had to watch La La Land. I came out of the cinema very amazed while I was trying to contain my tears of a great content, I love musicals. La La Land, narra la historia de dos jóvenes soñadores que luchan en el transcurso de la película por conseguir lo que más aman a pesar de los grandes obstáculos y desilusiones. Mia (Emma Stone), una aspirante a actriz, sirve café a estrellas de cine y Sebastian, un músico de jazz se gana la vida tocando en bares. De una manera a otra sus vidas se cruzan una noche en un bar mientras Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) toca el piano, tras ese encuentro suceden muchos más inesperados puesto que esa era la primera de muchos.

Intentaré no entregar nada de spoilers (soy de las personas que más los odia). Este filme fue escrito y dirigido por Damien Chazelle quién también estuvo en la dirección de la famosisima cinta Whiplash protagonizada por Miles Teller como un joven baterista de jazz, así es, el Jazz hace un papel muy importante en La La Land entregando un excelente soundtrack y un homenaje a la ciudad de las estrellas.

Desde el inicio hasta el fin del filme, cuenta la historia de una forma acorde a las estaciones del año mientras se halla un largo tráfico en la autopista de la ciudad de Los Ángeles, y es cuando Chazelle da un pasa bocas de lo que entregará esta producción, así es, la parte que muestran en la introducción de los Golden Globe donde sale Jimmy Fallon cantando, algo así, pero con miles de personas. Lo que más capto mi atención fue la coreografía y las tomas que entregaban, por ejemplo, con la canción "Someone in The Crowd", honestamente esa toma fue muy bien hecha (me entenderán cuando lo vean) o en una parte donde hay estrellas y un baile, también unas tomas perfectas con grandiosos efectos.

Lo más sorprendente es la voz de Emma y Ryan, cabe destacar la excelente química que estos dos actores tienen en las pantallas lo cual es muy maravilloso. El vestuario fue otra cosa que cautiva al espectador.

Así mismo, el filme trata sobre la lucha por cumplir los sueños también habla sobre los cambios en el género musical donde el jazz comienza a cambiar y verse acorde con la modernidad del tiempo actual a la pantalla. Por obvias razones, los personajes principales sienten una atracción que enseñan hasta el final del trama, cosa que dejará a más de uno con los ojos lagrimeados y déjenme decirles que no es por esa razón.


En conclusión, La La Land es una historia llena de ilusiones, esperanzas protagonizando el amor entre dos personas que luchan por cumplir sus sueños en la ciudad de las estrellas a pesar de las grandes dificultades por hacerlos realidad, te llenará de valentía y anhelo algo que muy pocas películas (en mi opinión) logran entregar. Tiene musical, Emma y Ryan bailando y cantando mientras se juran amor eterno y los efectos son muy extraordinarios, nada exagerado, perfecto.

La La Land, tells the story of two young dreamers who struggle in the course of the film to get what they love most despite obstacles and disappointments. Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress who serves coffee to movie stars and Sebastian, a jazz musician makes a living playing in bars. From one way to another their lives intersect one night in a bar while Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) plays the piano, after that encounter many more unexpected happen since that was the first of many.

Ill try not to give any spoilers (Im one of the people who hate that). This film was written and directed by Damien Chazelle who was also in the direction of the famous film Whiplash starring Miles Teller as a young jazz drummer, thats right, Jazz plays a very important role in La La Land delivering an excellent soundtrack and A tribute to the city of stars.

From the beginning to the end of the film, tells the story in a way that conforms to the seasons of the year. It starts with a long traffic on the freeway of the city of Los Angeles, and is when Chazelle gives you a taste of what will deliver this production, Thats right, that part that Jimmy Fallon shows in the introduction of the Golden Globe, something like that, but with a thousands of people & cars. What really captured my attention was the scene of the song "Someone in The Crowd", very loved it, the shots, choreo and effects.

Emmas voice and ryan are very surprising, the chemistry of these two actors have in the screen is very amazing... As always. The costume design were something that also captivated me.

The film deals with the struggle to fulfill the dreams also talks about the changes in the musical genre of jazz begins as to be modern and it loses its scent. For obvious reasons, the main characters feel an attraction that they show until the end of the movie, something that will leave you with watery eyes and let me tell you that it is not for that reason.


In conclusion, La La Land is a story full of of illusions, hopes starring the love between two people who struggle to fulfill their dreams in the city of the stars despite the great difficulties to make them real, will fill you with courage and longing, something wich I believe that very few films manage to deliver. It has musical, Emma and Ryan dancing and singing while they swear eternal love and the effects are very extraordinary, nothing exaggerated, just perfect.
