SIPNOSIS:
Imagina esta situación: Noventa y seis años atrás, la tierra fue destruida por una guerra nuclear. De toda la población en la tierra, solo 400 personas lograron ser salvadas y fueron enviadas al espacio en 12 naves que se conectan una con otra en una sola llamada el arca. Suena interesante, ¿no? Sin embargo, un pequeño problema que ha surgido con toda esta situación: la población se ha incrementado a casi cuatro mil personas, y los suministros de comida y de oxigeno poco a poco se han ido agotando. Lo que ha llevado a un control de natalidad y la pena de muerte por cualquier falta que se pueda cometer. ¿Ya no suena tan increíble? Ya hasta daría miedo vivir ahí, y ser castigado con la pena de muerte por haber robado un pedazo de pan para tu familia hambrienta.
Si quieres saber un poco más acerca de esta historia, es importante que la tengas en mente y puedas empezar a ver la serie de esta semana: Los 100.
PLOT:
Imagine this: Ninety-six years ago, the Earth was destroyed by a nuclear war. Of all people on earth, only 400 people were able to be saved and were sent into space in 12 ships. Those spaceships are connected to one another, and they make a single ship called the Ark… Sounds pretty awesome, right? … However, there’s a tiny problem: The population has increased to nearly four thousand people, and the food and oxygen’s supplies are not enough for all the Ark. So, this has led to a birth control and death penalty for any infringement that can be committed. It doesn’t sound amazing now, right? I mean, I would be afraid to live there, and be punished with the death penalty for stealing a piece of bread for my starving family!
Well, if you want to know a little bit more about this story, it’s very important for you to add, and better start your binge watching week, with our today’s tv show: The 100.

Los 100 es una serie que relata la vida de las personas que viven en el arca, y que por falta de comida, medicinas y oxígeno deben buscar una opción de vida, inclusive si no es en el espacio.
Es por esto que forman un grupo de 100 personas de jóvenes delincuentes que no son importantes para el arca -inclusive cuando dos de esos jóvenes son los hijos del canciller y la médica más importante para la nave – y en una misión secreta, se les prepara a estos jóvenes para que sean parte de una exploración que los llevará a la tierra. Esta exploración es para saber si la tierra puede volver a ser habitable, y en ese único intento tienen dos opciones posibles: Que los 100 puedan vivir en la tierra y así las personas que viven en el arca puedan llegar a la tierra también; o que al llegar a ella mueran los 100 jóvenes y se pierda la esperanza de vida del arca. ¡Primer dilema de los muchos que muestra la serie!
Algo curioso dentro de la historia, es que cuando se quiere llevar a cabo esta misión, no se les dice a los jóvenes que serán enviados a un planeta que solo han observado desde el espacio, y que sus probabilidades de vida son bastantes bajas. De hecho, para que estos accedan sin problema, se les dice que tendrán una misión en la tierra y que una vez lleguen allí, todas sus faltas serán perdonadas.
Una vez llegan a la tierra, su principal objetivo es encontrar la estación militar Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center, en donde podrán encontrar un refugio y suministros para sobrevivir. Sin embargo al aterrizar, la distancia de ese punto a la estación es muy distante. Así que un grupo de 5 personas de los 100, decide ir a explorar el lugar y en el camino, se topan con lugares y cosas que no sabían que existían dentro de los mapas que tenían, y también se dan cuenta que no son los únicos dentro de la tierra y que de hecho hay un grupo de personas que sobrevivieron a la guerra nuclear y estuvieron viviendo en la tierra por muchas generaciones.
Esto trae uno de los muchos problemas para los 100 porque al llegar a la tierra no solo deben lidiar con la idea de conocer y sobrevivir a este nuevo mundo, sino que han llegado a un lugar habitado por un grupo de personas llamados the grounders, quienes están conformados por clanes en distintas zonas de la tierra y mantienen una lucha por el poder y una filosofía que los hace ser quienes son jus drein jus daun (Sangre debe tener sangre). En ese momento, se dan cuenta que la misión a la que habían sido enviados, se ha tornado en una situación en donde sus decisiones y acciones los dejará vivir o morir en la tierra.
Dato curioso: Los grounders tienen una lengua propia llamada Trigedasleng. Dicha lengua, fue creada para la serie.
Actualmente, los 100 ha sido renovada para su cuarta temporada que se estrenará en el 2017. Por este motivo y por aún tienen mucho tiempo para ponerse al día si no lo están, les daré un pequeño adelanto: De esos 100 jóvenes, ya son pocos los que quedan vivos. También, es una serie recomendada si eres seguidor de la ciencia ficción, el drama, toda la temática del post apocalipsis, la acción porque hay luchas de los 100 que enfrentan no solo a los grounders sino a comunidades que intentan preservar su vida al coste de la de ellos; además son personas o como son llamados gente del espacio que deben lidiar con los problemas que surgen en el día a día de sus vidas.
Esta serie te tendrá al borde de tu silla en cada capítulo, y te hará cuestionarte en muchas situaciones las decisiones que puedan tomar los personajes. Porque maneja el compromiso moral frente al bien de unos, por encima de los otros. Esto lo tiene bien claro la protagonista de esta serie Clarke Griffin que con tan solo 18 años, se convierte en una de las líderes de los 100 y una de las encargadas de hacer sobrevivir a su gente a toda costa.

Do you want to know something? When the chancellor and his team thought about the mission, they didn’t tell all the consequences of that exploration to the 100: that they will be send to a planet that they have only seen from space, and that their life expectancies were low. In fact, they were told, that in their mission on earth, they will get freedom of their punishments once they were there on the ground.
When they reach the ground, their main goal is to find a military station called Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center, where they can find shelter and supplies to survive. However, the place where they landed is very far away from Mount Weather. So, a group of 5 people from the 100, decides to explore the place. On the way, they find places and things that weren’t show or known to exist within the maps that they had. Also, they realize, that they are not alone in that place, and in fact there’s a group of people who survived the nuclear war, and lived on the Earth for many generations until now.
This brings one of many problems for the 100, because being on the earth means not only to deal with the idea of knowing and survive this new world, but now that they have arrived, they are in a place inhabited by a group of people called the grounders, who are around the place in different kinds of clans, and they have a struggle for power and a philosophy that makes them who they are ‘jus drein jus daun’ (blood must have blood). In that moment, the 100 realize that the mission that they had been sent to do, it has become a situation where their decisions and actions will let them live or die on earth.
Fun fact: The grounders have their own language called Trigedasleng. This language is real, and it was especially created for the show.
Currently, the 100 has been renewed for its fourth season that will be release in 2017. And, because of that, you have so much time to watch and I will give you this minor spoiler: Of all the 100 that were sent to Earth, only a few of them are still alive. Also, if you aren’t watching The 100 now, I can recommend this show for fans of sci-fi, drama, the whole post apocalypse thing and action, because they are so many fights around with the 100 and the grounders, but also with some groups who want their blood to preserve their life not matter what. And also, they are humans or sky people –as they are called - who deal with daily problems in their lives.
This show will have you on the edge of your sit every episode, and you will question many situations and decisions made by the characters. Because, this is a tv show that manages the moral commitment to the good of a few above the other. Those are the kind of things and decisions that Clarke Griffin – one of our main characters – has to do in order to safe and protect her people at all cost because with only 18 years, she has become one of the leaders and responsible of the 100.
