Haters Back off es una serie original de Netflix que es adaptada para seguir los inicios de la estrella del Internet y youtube: Miranda Sings.

Haters Back off is a Netflix original series that follows the beginnings of the most famous girl on internet and youtube: Miranda Sings.


Leer en Español Read in English ¿Pero quién es Miranda Sings? Bueno, ella es un personaje ficticio que ha sido creado para Internet por la comediante, actriz y cantante Colleen Ballinger. Y se ha vuelto popular dentro de los youtubers actuales por representar a una persona que canta mal, es egoísta y por lo general suele hacer comentarios sobre cosas e ideas que malinterpreta y sobre las que no tiene ningún filtro. Personalmente, me gusta mucho ese personaje porque es diferente y cada vez que veo algunos de sus vídeos puedo reír por montones (Si no la conoces y quieres ver sus vídeos, lo puedes hacer aquí)


Cada año ha incrementado su popularidad, tanto así que es un personaje que le ha dado varias oportunidades a su creadora para expandirla por otros espacios además del Internet. De hecho, Miranda Sings ha hecho varios tours de shows de comedia en muchas partes del mundo. Así que, teniendo en cuenta esta popularidad no es raro que Netflix le diera la oportunidad a Colleen y a su equipo para trabajar y hacer de Miranda un personaje que nace en youtube y crece para llegar a las pantallas televisivas .

Sin embargo, el resultado que se espera es totalmente diferente al que se resulta debido a varias de las falencias que presenta el show:

1. El formato hace que se pierda la esencia de Miranda Sings. Una de las cosas que me gusta de Miranda Sings es su personalidad y el mundo en el que ella cree vivir. Lo que la lleva a comentar y decir cosas que todos nosotros pensamos pero pocos decimos en voz alta. En sus vídeos en youtube eso funciona a la perfección y la hace ser un personaje único e interesante. Sin embargo, cuando se presenta la misma Miranda por 20 minutos, su personaje se convierte en alguien irritante y al que no puedes llegar a soportar por ciertos excesos en sus comentarios que llegan a ser insultantes e irrespetuosos para muchos.

2. Los personajes no son fuertes. En la serie no se puede negar que el elenco de actores es bueno. Sin embargo, los personajes no tienen una evolución durante cada capítulo. De hecho, con cada episodio se van convirtiendo en una parodia de quienes eran en el primer capítulo y no evolucionan como personajes y se estancan durante toda la serie.



3. Es una comedia plana. Haters back off es una serie que relata la historia de los inicios de Miranda Sings antes de ser la popular y tan aclamada personaje del mundo virtual. Sin embargo, como decíamos antes toda la historia es plana y no hay un buen desarrollo a nivel de guión. A su vez, es una serie que tiene un formato de comedia pero por capítulo habrán solo dos o tres frases que te pueden parecer graciosas y ya. No habrá más comedia durante el resto del episodio.
Además toda la historia puede llegar a ser predecible, así que como espectador tal vez lo que pienses y te imagines sea lo que llegue a suceder.

No puedo negar que pasar de Youtube a un formato de episodio de serie, puede llegar a ser algo diferente y retante para cualquiera. Sin embargo, el trabajo que ha hecho Colleen con Miranda Sings ha sido increíble y créanme que soy una persona que es una visitante constante a su canal, pero cuando me encuentro con Haters Back Off pierdo el interés y el sentido del existir de Miranda Sings.

Eso sí, aunque yo no vaya a ser una seguidora de la serie, habrán personas a quienes les puede parecer la dinámica de Haters Back Off interesante y entretenida porque entre gustos no hay disgustos (Sí, yo soy de las que no ve The walking dead).

But, who is Miranda Sings? Well, shes a fictional character that has been created for the internet by comedian, actress and singer Colleen Ballinger. And, she has become popular within the current youtubers for representing a person who sings very bad, who is selfish and usually makes comments on things and ideas that she misinterprets and doesnt undertand

Personally, I really like Miranda because shes different. And, every time I see some of her videos on youtube I laugh for hours (If you dont know Miranda and you want to watch her videos, you click here)



Each year Miranda has increased her popularity and it has become a big deal on the internet so much so her creator - Colleen - has been doing live tours acting as Miranda all over the world. So, keeping in mind this popularity, its not weird for Netflix to give Colleen and her team the opportunity to work and make Miranda a character who was born on YouTube and grew up to reach the television screens.

However, the result thats expected is totally different when you watch the show due the downs and fails that can have:

1. The new format and content arent good for Miranda Sings. One of the things I like about Miranda Sings is her personality and the world she believes in. As a result of that, she says things that we all think but few of us can say out loud. So, in her videos on youtube her comments work perfectly making her an unique and interesting character.
However, when Miranda says the same comments and appears for 20 minutes, her character becomes irritating and it cannot be tolerated because she becomes rude and disrespectful to many people in an mean way and its not okay.

2. The characters arent strong. In the show, you cant deny that the cast is good. However, the characters dont have any development during the season. In fact, with each episode they become a parody of those who were in the pilot. They become flat and uninteresting for anyone watching.



3. Its a flat comedy. Haters back off is supposed to be a comedy tv show but in every episode there will be only two or three sentences that may seem funny and thats all. There will be no more comedy for the rest of the episode. Also, the whole story can be predictable, so as a viewer probably what you think and imagine it will happen.

I cant deny that going from Youtube to a tv show can be something different and challenging for anyone. However, Colleens work with Miranda Sings has been incredible and believe me that Im a visitor in her channel every week, but when I watch Haters Back Off, I lose the interest and desire to watch and listen to Miranda Sings.

Of course, although I will not be a follower of the show, there will be people who may find Haters Back Off interesting and entertaining because everyone has differente tastes and likes specially in tv shows (Yes, I dont watch The walking dead).
