February: The month of rebels

I am living my last year as a teenager, so I thought it is time for me to write about what I have learnt and what I was supposed to learn and haven?t. Makes sense, right?
Técnicamente estoy viviendo mi último año como teenager, así que he supuesto que era el momento perfecto para hablar sobre lo que supuestamente debería haber aprendido...

1.You will always be a teenager

Being a teenager, has surprisingly, nothing to do with age. It is an attitude, it is the willingness to stand for what you believe. To change what you simply don?t like. To say out loud what you have kept for yourself for way too long. To go ahead and become the designer of your very own life.

Ser un teenager no tiene nada que ver con la edad. Es una actitud, concretamente, son las ganas de alzar la voz por lo que crees. Cambiar lo que no te gusta. Gritar lo que te has guardado demasiado tiempo para ti. Coger las riendas de tu vida y diseñar el futuro que quieres. Kate Moss 40 y todavía una teenager.

Diva. Anorexic.Rebellious. Spoiled. Bad Influence. These are just a few examples of labels she has been put on, without even asking permission. You do not have to be famous to be talked about, do you wanna know a few labels I have been put on? Diva, Big-headed, too much of a dreamer, spoiled, too thin, too tall. Are they true?Not to me.And that is the most important part, that I do not let them stick. But do you wanna know the one and only lesson I will take from Kate Moss? Live your life the way YOU want.
Diva. Anoréxica. Rebelde. Mimada. Mala Influencia. Esto son sólo algunos ejemplos de las etiquetas que nosotros  la sociedad, ha decidido pegarle. Sin embargo, no hace falta ser tan famoso como Kate, para que hablen mal de ti. A mí misma también me han pegado alguna que otra etiqueta, entre ellas la de diva, creída, demasiado soñadora, malcriada, demasiado delgada, demasiado alta... ¿Son ciertas? Al menos para mí, no. No tengo ningún problema en escribirlas aquí mismo, precisamente porque no les doy importancia ya que no representan lo que yo soy.
¿Sabéis cuál es el único consejo que he tomado de Kate? Vive tu vida, como TÚ quieras vivirla. 



2. Teenage= rebel?

There is this imposible and complicated to break stereotype that teens get oh-so-rebellious. Yes, they do. And that?s what happens when society focuses on making everyone fulfill certain characteristics. People become rebels and thank god that happens, because otherwise our planet will be a damn boring place to live. And my most favourite part of all this is that those who success are the ones that do not suit what society considers ?perfect?.
Existe ese estereotipo de los adolescentes, el cual a mi parecer va a ser difícil borrar del mapa, sobre la actitud insoportablemente rebelde que éstos toman.Sí, lo hacen. Pero eso es lo que pasa cuando la sociedad se centra en crear unos cánones que todo el que se precie debe segur. La gente se rebela, y menos mal que lo hacen, porque de otra forma, este planeta sería de lo más aburrido. ¿Mi parte favorita? Que los que triunfan, son precisamente los que la sociedad considera "Imperfectos".

Being a rebel has nothing to do with being all pierced and having plenty of tattoos. It is about raising your voice about what it is not right. The most angelic face ever, Audrey Hepburn, has been called a rebel multiple times. And we all know that she could not have had a classier style and a sweeter appearance.
Ser rebelde, no tiene nada que ver con "autodecorarse" con piercings y tatuajes como si no hubiese un mañana. Se trata de quejarse de lo que no está bien. La misma Audrey Hepburn, ha sido señalada como rebelde muchas veces, y no podría haber llevado una estética más angelical.

3. ?I lead, not follow?




This is the most personal lesson I have learnt. I am not good at being lead. Sorry I am not. I hate being told what to do, because I always figure out a way to do it. My own way. It is not perfect and yes, it does have flaws, but nothing that can?t be mend. Give me time to lead myself, instead of teaching me how to follow your intructions.
Excuse my ?diva attitude? but I rule myself.

Esta es, personalmente, la lección más importante que he aprendido. No se me da bien tener un líder. Lo siento, pero no. Odio que me digan lo que tengo que hacer, porque siempre encuentro una manera de hacer las cosas. Mi propia manera. No es perfecta, y efectivamente, tiene sus fallos, pero nada que no pueda arreglarse. Dame tiempo para ser mi propia líder, no instrucciones.

4. Dye your life with the colours you want.

Things that may happen to you, will change your mood. Because you are human. But the truth is that you are more powerful tan your own luck. Think like the winner I know you are. It?s all in. Start painting your mind with your favourite happy shade. Focus on the good that happens to you, because the best is often ignored. Negativity is a dark mask we put in. Here is an invitation to take it out. To embrace all. The good and the bad. To live without fears and, to be as free as a teen spirit.

Todo aquel acontecimiento que tenga lugar en tu día, te puede cambiar el estado de ánimo, porque eres una persona humana. Por otra parte, lo cierto es que tú tienes más poder que tu suerte. Piensa como el ganador que hay en ti. Pinta tu mente del color que quieres que sea tu vida. Céntrate en lo positivo que viene a ti, porque desgraciadamente nuestra mente da por sentado lo bueno, y lo ignora. La negatividad, no es más que una máscara que nos ponemos.
