Life sometimes faces situations that you cant handle, that overtake you and test you in the most terrifying way. Sometimes, what hurts you makes you stronger, or on the contrary, it destroys you so that it is impossible to recover again. Life itself isnt written in stone and when we least expect it we could find a turn that will put us from head to toe; As that is exactly what this book evokes with the dramatic conclusion of one of the most exciting and complex mystery series of the Young Adult genre.

Bad Blood, as I said, its the last volume of The Naturals series; This time Cassie is obsessed with finding out where her mother is and how to save her, and at the same time, try to stop the next nine deaths that will allow the new apprentice to become master of the terrifying secret sect of murderers we met in the previous book. Cassie will relive her worst memories and with the help of her Natural Companions, she will try not to die in the precess.

The first thing I can say about this book is that it was a bittersweet ride; from the beginning we see how hard this has been for Cassie and therefore how it has affected her housemates, especially, and in my opinion, as her relentless pursuit for the truth has tinted her relationship with Dean. On the other hand, and as each book draws, so to speak, with each member of the group, this time it is Michael and Lia; Although, I wish there was a little more, because we already had a book dedicated to Dean, and another for Sloane, but particularly, I would have loved to have more of Lia, because her character is very complex and she has so much to contribute. However, I like that even though her time had to be cut considering the other things happening, Lia gave a very good show for all the readers that love her so much.

I cant decide if I like this or the previous book the most, because although I liked it very much I feel that there is still something that doesnt fit at all. I feel it was a bit confusing, and sometimes unnecessary, and Im not sure how to explain it, because I didnt write the book, so at the end of the day I cant do anything to change the story.

Let me explain to you what I mean, which has to do with the fact that I wouldnt have expected it to evolve the way it did; I would have preferred it to continue to deal with the cases that were occurring with the current apprentice-to-be-teacher instead of taking that edge of the past, because for me, it became confusing to have all this information that had neither head nor tail during much of the book. And at some point, even, it made me wonder if the these Naturales were so good after all, as they had shown in the last books. But as I said, it is not something I can change, however, considering everything that happens in the book, Ms Barnes does a very good job keeping us in the loop throughout the process with the story that was giving us.

I think the best part and the most surprising is the end, I never expected it and it gave me so much to cry for because it felt like a knife was stuck in my heart. But at the same time its a hopeful ending, a story that doesnt finish completely closed because it leaves you with some things for your own imagination to fly by and, meanwhile, gives the opportunity to the author for her to write more from this group without any problem.

For my part, I would like to think that Cassie will be well with her life and that will end happily with Dean, married and with two little ones that will make them understand, finally, that they are good people; I want to believe that Sloane, Michael and Lia will heal over time, if they do not even manage to heal at all, they will still be happy in one way or another; I want to imagine that Michael and Lia will finally be together, that they wont continue to hurt each other, and that Michael will love Lia someday; I want to think that Lauren will grow up to be a happy, loving, healthy girl and that what she lived in her first four years of life will not affect her in the future; And finally, I want to think that the Natural program will continue to help special kids like Cassie, Dean Sloane, Michael and Lia, and save more life.

OVERALL, this has been a great closure for one of my favorite mystery series. I cant help but say that the macabre doesnt stop being part of this book, but even so, Msithim at bay introducing other aspects such as friendship, family and love within the story, as well such as personal growth. In short, this is a series that deserves to be read.

---------La vida a veces te enfrentas a situaciones que no puedes manejar, que te sobrepasan de alguna manera y que te prueban del modo más aterradora. A veces, lo que te hace daño te hace más fuerte, o por lo contrario, te destruye de forma que es imposible volver a recuperarse. La vida de por sí, no está escrita en piedra y cuando menos lo esperamos podríamos encontrar un giro tan inesperado que nos pondrá de pies a cabeza; pues eso es exactamente lo que evoca este libro con la dramática conclusión de una de las series de misterio más excitante y complejas del género Young Adult.

Bad Blood como ya lo decía es el último tomo de The Naturals; en esta ocasión Cassie está obsesionada con descubrir dónde está su madre y como salvarla, al mismo tiempo, intentar detener las próximas nueve muertes que le permitirán al nuevo aprendiz convertirse en maestro dentro de la aterradora secta secreta de asesinos que conocimos en el libro anterior. Cassie volverá a revivir sus peores recuerdos y con la ayuda de sus compañeros Naturales, tratará de no morir en el intento.

Lo primero que puedo decir de este libro es que fue agridulce, desde el principio vemos cuan duro ha sido todo esto para Cassie y, por consiguiente, como ha afectado a sus compañeros de casa, en especial, y a mi parecer, como su búsqueda implacable por la verdad ha tintado su relación con Dean. Por otro lado, y como cada libro se afinca, por decirlo de algún modo, con cada uno de los miembros del grupo, en esta ocasión le toca a Michael y a Lia; aunque a mi parecer le falto un poco más, pues ya tuvimos un libro dedicado a Dean, y otro para Sloane, pero particularmente, me hubiese encantado tener más de Lia, pues su personaje es muy complejo y ella tiene tanto que aportar. No obstante, igual me gusta que, a pesar de que su tiempo debía de ser cortado considerando las otras cosas sucediendo, Lia dio un muy buen espectáculo para todos los lectores que la queremos tanto.

Yo no puedo decidir si me gusta más este o el libro anterior, porque aunque me gustó muchísimo siento que todavía hay algo que no me cuadra del todo. Siento que fue un poco confuso, y algunas veces innecesario, y no sé muy bien cómo explicarlo, porque yo no escribí el libro, y al final de cuentas no puedo hacer nada para cambiar la historia.

Déjenme explicarles que quiero decir, que tiene que ver con el hecho de que yo no lo hubiera esperado evolucionar de la forma en que lo hizo; yo hubiese preferido que siguiera lidiando con los casos que estaban ocurriendo con el actual aprendiz-a-ser-maestro en vez de tomar esa arista del pasado, porque para mí, se volvió confuso el tener todo esta información que no tenía ni pies ni cabeza durante gran parte del libro. Y en algún momento, incluso, me hizo dudar de si los Naturales eran tan buenos, de pues de todo, como lo había sido en los libros pasados. Pero como ya dije, no es algo que yo pueda cambar, sin embargo, teniendo en cuenta todo lo que sucede en el libro, Ms Barnes hace un muy buen trabajo manteniéndonos en vilo durante todo el proceso con la historia que nos estaba dando.

Considero que la mejor parte y la más sorprendente es el final, nunca lo espere y me dio tanto para llorar que sentía como si un cuchillo se me clavara en el corazón. Pero al mismo tiempo es un libro esperanzador, un libro que no termina completamente cerrado pues te deja con algunas cosas para que tu propia imaginación vuele y, en tanto, le da la oportunidad a la autora de que si quisiera volver a escribir de este grupo, muy bien podría retomarlo sin ningún problema.

Por mi parte, quisiera pensar de que Cassie estará bien con su vida y que terminará feliz con Dean, casados y con dos pequeños que les harán entender, por fin, que ellos son buenas personas; quiero creer que Sloane, Michael y Lia sanarán con el tiempo, si incluso no lograr sanar del todo, aún serán felices de una forma u otra; quiero pesar que Michael y Lia, por fin estarán juntos, que no seguirán dañándose uno al otro, y que Michael amará a Lia algún día; quiero pensar de que Lauren crecerá siendo una chica feliz, llena de amor, saludable y que lo que vivió en sus primeros cuatro años de vida no la afectarán en el futuro; y finalmente, quiero pensar que el programa Naturales seguirá ayudando a chicos especiales como Cassie, Dean Sloane, Michael y Lia para que salven muchas vidas.

En conclusión, este ha sido un gran cierre para una de mis series de misterios favorita. No puedo dejar de lado decir que lo macabro no deja de ser parte de este libro, pero aun así, Ms Barnes hace un muy buen trabajo manteniéndolo a raya introduciendo otros aspectos como la amistad, la familia y el amor dentro de la historia, así como el crecimiento personal. En definitiva es una serie a tener en cuenta.

Jennifer Lynn Barnes (who mostly goes by Jen) was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has been, in turn, a competitive cheerleader, a volleyball player, a dancer, a debutante, a primate cognition researcher, a teen model, a comic book geek, and a lemur aficionado. Shes been writing for as long as she can remember, finished her first full book (which she now refers to as a "practice book" and which none of you will ever see) when she was still in high school, and then wrote Golden the summer after her freshman year in college, when she was nineteen.
