But I cant seem to fake that I might be feeling something real for her.

Lauren Blakely surprises me with every new book I read of her, although I havent read many (like about 4), each one is better than the previous one. This time Big Rock was presented as a comedy that made me laugh while telling us a story of friendship and unconditional love. Ive had this book since it release without paying much attention but needing a little indulgence after so many deaths and mystery with my last readings, it really was a breath of fresh air with a little spice.
In my opinion, this book takes a bit of the tone of the Freeforms TV comedy, Baby Daddy, if anyone has seen it, you may noticed that is one of the best that has been create lately. While theres no a baby on the scene (unless it counted a voyeuristic cat), in Big Rock we will find Spencer, a womanizer who has slept with about half of New York, co-owner of a bar franchise together with his best friend Charlotte, who he asked to pose as his fiancée to help his dad close a multi-million dollar deal. She has her own reasons for saying yes to such madness, given that they has been impersonating each other fiancées for years to get rid of annoying suitors, however, Spencer ends up falling in love with Charlotte without knowing if she corresponds his feelings and the whole situation ends up getting entangled in epic proportions.
Big Rock is fully told from Spencers POV, and it cant be more perfect as hes super funny, charming and has the most eloquent thoughts. I love that, despite being a Don Juan, he doesnt mistreat the girls with whom he dates, he is a true gentleman, and seeks to please the woman who, at that moment, hes wit; at the same time, I love how he is with the people who are constant in his life, like his friends, his sister, his parents and, of course, Charlotte. She is funny, intelligent, and perfect for Spencer, from the beginning you realize that they are made for each other.
In conclusion, this is a special book for those times when we are in the mood for something light, sexy, and fun. A captivating story that also has some rather spicy sex scenes but without leaving aside beautiful moments between these friends-turned-lovers. I highly recommended it for all lovers of romantic comedies.
---------Lauren Blakely me sorprende con cada nuevo libro que leo de ella, si bien no he leído muchos (como alrededor de 4), cada uno es mejor que el anterior. En esta oportunidad Big Rock se presentó como una comedia que no me hizo para de reír mientras nos contaba una historia de amistad y amor incondicional. He tenido este libro desde que salió sin prestarle mucha atención pero necesitando un poco de indulgencia tras tantas muertes y misterio con mis últimas lecturas, realmente fue una bocanada de aire fresco con un poco de picante.
A mi parecer, este libro lleva un poco la tónica de la comedia de televisión de Freeform, Baby Daddy, si alguien la ha visto notaran que es una de las mejores que se ha hecho últimamente. Si bien no hay un bebe en escena (a menos que cuente un gato voyerista), en Big Rock encontraremos a Spencer, un casanova que se ha acostado con, aproximadamente, la mitad de Nueva York, co-dueño de una franquicia de bares junto a su mejor amiga Charlotte, a quien debe pedirle que se haga pasar por su prometida para ayudar a su papá a cerrar un trato multimillonario. Ella tiene sus propias razones para decir que si a semejante locura, teniendo en cuenta que ha pretendido por años estar junto una que otra vez para sacarse de encima a pretendientes molestos, sin embargo, Spencer termina enamorándose de Charlotte sin saber si esta le corresponde y acaba todo enredándose a proporciones épicas.
Big Rock está completamente contada desde el punto de vista de Spencer, y no puedo ser más perfecto, ya que es súper gracioso y tiene pensamientos de lo más elocuentes. Me encanta que, a pesar de ser un Don Juan, él no trata mal a las chicas con las que sale, es un verdadero caballero, y busca de complacer a la mujer que, en ese momento, este con él, al mismo tiempo, me encanta como es con las personas a su alrededor que son constante en su vida, como sus amigos, su hermana, sus padres y, por su puesto, Charlotte. Ella por su parte es graciosa, inteligente, y se complementa muy bien con Spencer, desde el principio te das cuenta de que ellos están hechos uno para el otro.
En conclusión, esta es una libro especial para aquellos momentos en los que estamos de humor para algo ligero, sexy, y divertido. Una historia cautivante y que además tiene unas cuentas escenas de sexo bastante picante pero sin dejar de lado hermoso momentos entre estos amigos-convertidos-en-amantes. Altamente recomendado para todo los amantes de las comedias románticas.
