Tras un descanso de ocho días, hoy miércoles 7 de Enero regresamos con el primer post de este año 2015. Hoy daremos inicio al segmento musical dedicado al año 1975, hace 40 años, cuando quien escribe tenía 12 años de edad. Ya hace cinco años, desfilaron varias canciones de 1975 en la sección de "Hace 35 años", pero todavía quedaron algunas canciones por presentar aquí en el blog, y en este 2015, este año 75 estará presente de manera bimensual a través de seis segmentos musicales. Y para dar play de honor, hoy tendremos dos canciones de dos ex Beatles que sonaron en la radio hace 40 años.

2.- STAND BY ME (John Lennon).- Al igual que en el anterior tema, la primera vez que escuché a John Lennon fue con esta canción "Stand By Me". E igualmente, sería en Radio Miraflores donde la escucharía con frecuencia en los diversos programas de ese entonces. Como se sabe, este tema fue escrito originalmente por Ben E. King, Jerry Leiber y Mike Stoller y fue un gran hit con Ben E. King en 1960. Para 1975, John Lennon la grabó y la produjo para su álbum "ROCK ?N? ROLL" y con un sonido más inclinado al rock, siendo lanzada como single el 10 de Marzo de 1975, llegando al N°20 en USA, según Billboard, al N° 10 en Canadá y al N° 30 en UK. 40 años después, escuchemos este muy buen cover creado por John Lennon.

Este ha sido el primer segmento musical de 1975. Espero que estos dos buenos temas de George Harrison y John Lennon hayan sido de su agrado. Como siempre, los espero con sus visitas y comentarios. Y para completar la trilogía y siempre con un ex Beatle, los dejo con el video del buen cover que Ringo Starr hizo del clásico de The Platters", "Only You".
