Talking with my sister the other day, I was telling her about the awesome Ritchie Twins and how they are two of my favorite authors (I might even have said “my favorite authors”), so she asked me if they were as good as J. K. Rowling and I said, theyre number 7 (Rowling been 10). Then, I decided that I was going to do my top ten of my favorite authors because I definitely read some awesome books by some of the best writers ever. For me, those authors know how to deliver a great plot, create the most compelling characters and their writing styles are so captivating that I always read without a doubt any of their books.
------------Hablando con mi hermana el otro día, le conté sobre las increíbles gemelas Ritchie y cómo son dos de mis autores favoritos (incluso pude haber dicho "mis autoras favoritas"), así que ella me preguntó si eran tan buenas como JK Rowling, y le dije que ellas son el número 7 (con Rowling siendo mi 10). 1. Julia Quinn
For me Julia Quinn is pretty much the Queen of historical romance, her witty and enthralling love stories always make my icy heart lose it up and believe that there are still beautiful things in the world. I like that she is very original regarding the plots and always try to step away from the conventionalism of the romance genre, however, also stick to that magic we search for it. For all those who love a light, funny, captivating historical romance, this author is a must.

Para mí, Julia Quinn es la reina del romance histórico, sus historias de amor son ingeniosas y apasionantes, y siempre hacen que mi corazón de piedra se acelere y crea que todavía hay cosas bellas en el mundo. What I like the most about Johanna Lindsy is the fact that shes not afraid to set her book in an uncommon place. Straight from Russia court, the imaginary Cardinia or any kingdom she creates herself, every place is rich in culture, folklore and strong characters. She mostly writes historical romance but also some PNR, so her books are from everyone.

Lo que más me gusta de Johanna Lindsey es el hecho de que no tiene miedo de situar sus libros en lugares poco comunes. Directamente desde la corte de Rusia, la imaginaria Cardinia o cualquier reino que ella misma invente, cada lugar es rico en cultura, folclore y personajes fuertes. Ella escribe sobre todo romance histórico, pero también algunos PNR, por lo que sus libros son para todos.

3. R. S. Grey
R. S. Grey is an author I discovered this year and shortly became one of my favorite. I always swoon for a good love-hate relationship between the MC and she knows how to deliver them, beside her books are hilarious without taking the importance away of more pressing issues and characters developing. She is an entertainer and I cant have enough of her books. For those who love romantic comedies and great characters, she is a good choice.

R. S. Gray es una autora que descubrí este año y en poco tiempo se convirtió en una de mis favoritas. Siempre me emociono por una buena relación de amor y odio entre los MCs y ella sabe cómo hacerlo, además de que sus libros son divertidísimos sin restarle importancia a temas más urgentes y el desarrollo de los personajes. Ella es una artista y no puedo tener suficiente de sus libros. Para aquellos que aman las comedias románticas y los personajes geniales, ella es una buena opción.

4. Jennifer Lynn Barnes
I read few books by Jen a few years ago, but it wasnt until early this year that I fully comprehend how good writer she is; her specialty is YA paranormal and mystery and she delivered them with so much skill. What I like most is that shes not afraid to write about heavy issues, she can talk to you about depression, suicide, abuse and murder and still make it perfectly reasonable for young readers. Shes an artist with words and knows how to create the most captivating stories.

Leí algunos libros de Jen hace unos años, pero no fue hasta principios de este año que comprendí realmente qué buena escritora es; su especialidad es YA paranormal y misterio y ella los entregó con tanta habilidad. Lo que más me gusta es que no tiene miedo de escribir sobre temas pesados, puede hablar sobre la depresión, el suicidio, el abuso y el asesinato y aun así hacer que sea perfectamente razonable para lectores jóvenes. Ella es una artista con las palabras y sabe cómo crear las historias más cautivadoras.

5. Ally Carter
OMG. I know about Ally Carter for so many years now and Ive read all her books, and no matter what shell write next Ill probably read it as well. Her books are so fun and she lately has introduced more heavy concepts into them, like her writing style has been maturing with time. Every time I read her books I end up wanting to be a spy, a white collar thief (even if I know its a bad thing) or just be able to have a crazy, thrilling adventure.

DIOSES MIOS. Conozco a Ally Carter desde hace muchos años y he leído todos sus libros, y sin importa lo que escriba después, probablemente también lo leeré. Sus libros son muy divertidos y últimamente ha introducido conceptos más pesados en ellos, al igual que su estilo de escritura ha ido madurando con el tiempo. Cada vez que leo sus libros termino queriendo ser un espía, un ladrón de cuello blanco (incluso si sé que es algo malo) o simplemente poder tener una aventura loca y emocionante.

6. Jennifer L. Armentrout
The best thing of Jennifer is her characters for sure, Im yet to find a sloppy character inside her stories because not matter if an MC or supporting characters, their personalities are so rich, layered and different between each. Shes also a very diversified author, she writes from YA to Adult, Contemporary to PNR and even self-publish, shes so talented and her writing style is so good. My mother language isnt English, but it was so easy for me to read her books those years that I wasnt used to the language.

Lo mejor de Jennifer son sus personajes, todavía he de encontrar personajes superfluos en sus historias porque no importa si es un MC o un personaje secundario, sus personalidades son muy ricas, tridimensionales y diferentes entre sí. También es muy diversificada, escribe desde YA a Adulto, Contemporáneo a PNR e incluso se auto-publica, es muy talentosa y su estilo de escritura es muy bueno. Mi lengua materna no es el inglés, pero fue tan fácil para mí leer sus libros esos años que no estaba muy acostumbrado al idioma.

7. Krista and Becca Ritchie
This whole list started because of Krista & Becca, and me telling my sister how good they are. The Ritchie Twins are indie authors and fan favorite, I discovered them by mistake when my eReader suggest me Kiss The Sky, shortly after its release in 2014. When I read the synopsis I thought it was going to be another contemporary romance with spoiled, rich kids and an annoying female lead, but it turned out to be one of my most fulfilled reads and one of my favorite books ever. I read ALL their books, more than 1 million of words and I dont regret a minute because each book is so mesmerizing, incredibly compelling, inspiring and beautiful. Their books touched me to the core and changed my life forever.

Toda esta lista comenzó por Krista y Becca, y yo hablándole a mi hermana lo buenas que son. Las gemelas Ritchie son autores independientes y favoritos entre los fans, las descubrí por accidente cuando mi eReader me sugirió Kiss The Sky, poco después de su lanzamiento en 2014. Cuando leí la sinopsis, pensé que iba a ser otro romance contemporáneo con mimados y ricos niños y una molesta protagonista femenina, pero resultó ser una de mis lecturas más profundas y uno de mis libros favoritos. He leído TODOS sus libros, más de 1 millón de palabras y no me arrepiento ni un minuto porque cada libro es fascinante, increíble, inspirador y hermoso. Sus libros me tocaron hasta el corazón y cambiaron mi vida para siempre.

8. Katie MacAlister
I mostly read Katie MacAlisters PNR and she had never left me down. Her stories are witty, hilarious and her heroines are absolute badasses. I like that she picked myths from all over the world and twitched to enrich her work. She can make that everything, from different background or myths, work together to create something hilarious and very entertaining.

Ella puede hacer que todo, desde diferentes antecedentes o mitos, trabajen juntos para crear algo divertido y entretenido.

9. Rick Riordan
The only man on my list but I mostly read female authors so thats not a surprise. Uncle Rick, while he didnt enrich my childhood, he had brought so much magic to my recent years. Most of you know about the backstory of his first book series, Percy Jackson, and, yes, it was one of the reasons I read it in the first place but once I did, I never looked back. Uncle Rick is such great writer, unpredictable regarding his use of mythology but also so fitting, with him Ive laughed so much, cried sometimes and lived the most amazing adventures. I love almost all his characters and, even when I didnt grow up with them, they all have a very special place in my heart.

El único hombre en mi lista, pero en su mayoría leo autoras, así que no es una sorpresa. Tío Rick, aunque no enriqueció mi infancia, me ha traído tanta magia en mis últimos años. What can I say about Rowling? She had changed so many lives, for some of us, she even gave us a meaning of life. In my case she gave me a purpose, because of her I started reading and fall in love with books and now, even when everything around me might fall apart I know I still have books to lift my soul and thats thanks to her. I dont can what she does, she will always be my favorite author.

¿Qué puedo decir sobre Rowling? Ella ha cambiado tantas vidas, para algunos de nosotros, incluso nos dio un sentido de la vida.
