My Thoughts

The problem with this review is the fact that everything I could say about it is pretty much the same I did on the previous book. The Natural were amazing and definitely, this one is too. The only thing I believe deserves to be notice is the fact that this book is all about Dean. I love Dean in The Naturals so I was soooo happy that this book was connected to his past and we are able to see more about his persona.

This time Cassie is trying to cope with what happened in the previous book, while she also has to figure out how she feel about Michael and Dean, and if she is willing to choose between them. Unfortunate, a copycat of Deans serial killer father started to pile corpses around and is up to the Naturals solve this crime before affect one of its member. The problem is that Dean doesnt want them involve because he knows that his father is a mind twister who plays with everyone, but as everything become perverse and sick, these teenager have to use all their skills to find the killer before one of them become a target.

I once read a series with a similar modus operandi, called The Specialist, a group of skilled teenagers are recruited by the government to catch some killers and go to undercover operations and each book focus in one of the group. But when I liked that series, I believe that Killer Instincts is way better with a most well-constructed plot and more likable characters. Beside the mystery is one of a kind, perfect for lovers of a good YA crime book.

Saying so, I enjoy this book features something that effected Dean, because we were able to understand him more, of course, its not like I liked to read about his suffering but at the same time I think it was perfect to develop more his character. Speaking about the romance, I know I put a lot of meaning on my previous round out of this book, but it doesnt actually outstand in it and is quite the contrary, all the other things have a bigger weight and thats perfect because it doesnt sugarcoat the story and annoy us with the cliché love-triangle. I like this book keeps you over the edge, guessing and questioning chapter after chapter but when you think you have everything figured out, all change and its nothing you would expect.

OVERALL, I think this book was the perfect sequel for an already perfect book. The romance, even where is a triangle doesnt take protagonist in the story and allow other things to unfold. This series have become one of my favorite and I cant wait for more.
